Accredited Sites

Started in the accreditation process

SITE ACCREDITATION is a complex process for a horse business. It involves an external audit of staff qualifications and experience, horses and horse keeping, facilities and site management, risk management processes and standard operating procedures for all horse related activities. See site accreditation process paperwork under that subject in this website. The paperwork involved can be downloaded here:

For Australian site accreditation – all types of sites (not NSW) : HSA site-accreditation- rev120

NSW has extra requirements due to the SafeWork NSW Code of Practice,  so businesses in this state need this version: HSA site-accreditation- highlighted NSW -2020

Our site accreditation includes the Australian Horse Industry Council’s code of practice for horse activities, HorseSafe, plus some extra areas from the Horse Safety Australia Standards. It also includes the requirements contained in the Safe Work Australia’s Guide to managing risks when new and inexperienced people interact with horses. Those sites which have achieved full accreditation should be congratulated for their efforts. We hope in the future that many sites will see the merit in undertaking this process as an external audit of their operations.
